On September 23rd, WIFR broke ground for its new tower and guyed anchors, and on September 30th a 135-foot section was put in place on the tower base. Sections of the tower will be stacked in 50-foot incruments, so watch for our tower to be growing on the horizon to the west of Rockford. Barring any unforeseen weather or equipment delays, we plan to have our analog signal back on the air at full power by October 30th with our digital signal to follow in the first part of November. We will keep you updated as our construction progresses.
