Twenty-year-old specialist Cory A. Hubbell, of Urbana, Illinois, was hospitalized Wednesday evening at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, where he later died.
His death is under investigation.
Hubbell was a carpentry and masonry specialist with B Company, 46th Engineer Battalion based at Fort Rucker in southeast Alabama. His unit deployed for Kuwait on February 10.
Hubbell enlisted in 2001 after graduating from Urbana High School.
During his two years of service, Hubbell was awarded the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
His unit has scheduled a memorial service for tomorrow at Camp Arifjan.
