Rockton Woman Murdered
Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputies investigating homicide of 65-year-old woman

On Saturday December 27, 2008 Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies and medical personnel were sent to 6441 Alice Lane, Rockton, Illinois in regards to a medical assist.
Upon arrival a 65yr old female was located in the basement of the home with trauma to her head. She was deceased.
Sheriff’s detectives and crime scene officers, as well as representatives of the coroner’s office were called to the scene and preliminary investigation indicates that the death was the result of a homicide.
The coroner’s office will release the victims name once all family members have been contacted. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.

Wow. I remember seeing her walk down the halls of my school everyday with a smile on her face. It's just scary to think something like this could happen to a small town like ours.
