After months of searching for clues into the murder of an area taxi cab driver, Rockford police say they've arrested the man who pulled the trigger.
Officers arrested 20-year-old Juhnell Morgan in Chicago on Friday. He's charged with first degree murder. Police believe Morgan was attempting to rob Pamela Holmstrom in her taxi when he allegedly shot and killed her.
Police are still investigating this case because witnesses said there were two men who approached Holmstrom at the time she was shot and killed.
There are four other unsolved murders in Rockford this year. Mark Terry was killed on April 26 at 415 N Henrietta. John McMurtry was killed on May 19 at the corner of Central and Morgan. Tyrone Dowthard was killed on May 23 at 2319 W Jefferson, and William Sumner was killed on July 11 in the 200 block of 7th St.
