Job searching in this economy can be a real challenge, but a loves park entrepreneur has an idea to connect local employers with local workers, and it's as simple as clicking a mouse.

A local company hopes its new website will give Rockford's unemployed a much needed boost with a monster.com type website designed solely for the state line.

Rockford resident Virgemina Ayala has been on the job hunt for nearly eight months after being laid off by the federal government. Now her search takes her to the Internet highway and a new employment website to serve the state line.

"I'm not picky. I'm really open for any job opportunity right now. I think this will be a good experience for the people of Rockford and also Loves Park, Machesney Park and other areas," says Ayala.

Chris Valk designed and operates job kwik.com. He says Rockford's high unemployment rate and a string of layoffs gave him the drive to help job seekers.

"I think it's going to be something that's going to be very beneficial to our whole community to bring back jobs to the Rockford area," says Valk.

The site is free to job seekers, employers pay a fee to view resumes. And it's already starting to pay off for some.

"I just got a call from Mr. Chris (Valk) and there's a job opening for me,” exclaims Ayala.

Valk also runs a local dating and auction website. All three of his sites can be reached at www.rkfdweb.com.
