Pecatonica is now taking applications as they begin to search for a new police chief.

The current police chief Lory Seagren announced his plans for retirement on Sunday.

Seagren says he plans to retire on July 1st. His law enforcement career spans over 22 years in which 17 of them were spent at the Pecatonica police department 17 of them.

No word on who will be taking over once Seagren leaves in July.
