"I'm perfect for the economy. I just keep spending and buying things."
Anthony Newman is just the shopper retailers are hoping for.
"I'll budget a little bit, but it's Christmas everyone wants to cut back but people still go and spoil the kids and spoil the family," he says.
Spoiling loved ones is noticeably cheaper this year.
"Definitely lower prices, I was just in Champs and it's a lot different than it's been in the past couple of years," says Tammy of Winnebago.
Many retailers hope concerns with Wall Street won't keep us from shopping the mall, that's why many are anting up their deals.
"Every one of our sweaters and pant is buy one get one 75 percent off," says New York and Company Assistant Store Manager Marisa Nunez.
That's 25-percent more savings than last year. And on Friday, 26 Cherryvale stores will offer door buster deals.
"It's really pumped up this year, I think people will be really amazing at the different offers in our coupon book," says Cherryvale Marketing Director Cindy Hindes.
We can pick those up at mall entrances Friday morning. Free gas cards are also being offered, along with car and vacation giveaways and other promotions. Anything to lure us in, during these uncertain times.
Cherryvale opens at five a-m on Friday. Some of the department stores at four.
