The world's busiest airport is running over capacity. That's why Illinois State senators came to Rockford Wednesday to see if the Chicago-Rockford International Airport can take the weight off O'Hare's shoulders.
Half a dozen state senators took a tour of the facilities. O'Hare's current modernization plan will take between eight and fifteen years to complete. Local officials want to increase RFD's passenger service during the construction. The ultimate goal would be to make Rockford home to Chicagoland's third major airport.
