Tuesday Tim Dimke was named the Executive Director of the Rockford Park District. The move comes after Webbs Norman announced his retirement. After 5 unanimous “I's” from the Board of Commissioners, Dimke began his reign. He says he is honored that the community and staff wanted him to be the head honcho. Dimke worked his way up the ranks after all he started as a maintenance worker in 1973. Park maintenance is still close to his heart and says that along with security top his to-do-list.
Dimke says, We still have a huge need to improve maintenance and quality of facilities that we currently have. We also still have the ever present threat of security issues in our parks."
Dimke's contract is up for renewal annually. He will have an evaluation after 6 months. He's moved up the salary chart as Executive Director he'll make about $122,000.
