For the month of October 2008 Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted 204 additional hours of patrol and traffic enforcement. Additional patrol hours were funded through an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Speed Enforcement Grant.

For the month of October 2008, Sheriff’s Deputies issued 317 citations (296 speeding, 8 uninsured motorists, 2 suspended/revoked drivers and 11 other). This grant funds the hire-back of Deputies to conduct traffic enforcement details focusing on speed related offenses.

The next enforcement period for this grant starts January 1, 2009.
