Being a mother is one of the hardest and most rewarding jobs out there. With Mother's Day just around the corner, we take a unique look at motherhood in Part One of Supermoms.

As I searched for "supermoms," I heard some amazing stories of perseverance and love. I wish we could have told all of these inspiring stories, but we focused on three women with very different circumstances. We start with Sheri Couch, a teen mother forced to grow up fast.

Sheri Couch was just 15 years old when she found out she was pregnant with Jasmine.

"I was a little bit concerned because I was going to have to grow up real fast. A lot of people treated me differently, like I was no good because I was pregnant. Like I was this terrible thing," says Sheri.

As her friends deserted her, Sheri says support from her boyfriend and family helped her through this trying time. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, Sheri studied for her GED, earning an award for one of the top scores in the state. Now she attends college and hopes to be a nurse.

"I used to only think about myself, but now I have to think about her. I don't want to do a lot of the things I used to want to do. I don't want to go to the mall and hang out with my friends. I'd rather be spending time with my daughter,” she says.

Harold couch says, "She's grown up quite a bit. She's really matured as a person and I think she handled it quite well really."

It's that type of support that keeps the 17-year-old moving in the right direction, and trying to be the best mother possible for 20-month-old Jasmine.

Couch says, "They think I took a bad situation. They're glad they have her even if they didn't exactly want her this early."

Sheri is looking for a job and plans to wed Jasmine's father, Jason, in the near future. Sheri is also a member of a group for teen mothers.
