Police in the Village of Roscoe have unionized in an effort to receive better pay and benefits. Officers have joined the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, and that has village leaders concerned.
Roscoe police officers are not currently under a contract with the Village of Roscoe. After joining the union, one will be required. The village president says Roscoe is looking at bringing in Winnebago County Deputies like Machesney Park. Some say that replacing Roscoe Police would not be cost efficient.
