As we told you last month a local boxing club thought they were down for the count. Now they are back in the fight to keep kids off the streets and use their aggression in a different way.
Just last month the Rockford boxing club shut down. The city said they were in a facility that was not up to code.
That's now changed thanks to a local businessman's donation of an empty building. Rockford Boxing Club's owner Les Stone says he almost gave up but knew that the kids needed him. Les says he worked long hours and once again kids are back in the ring.
If you would like more information about the Boxing Club call 965-0255. Les says he is looking into some fundraisers to help him start to make rent payments.
