College universities are looking at their future to find out how they can continue to provide higher education. One way to do that is for state senators to head back to college to brush up on their knowledge.
About 40 people from students to faculty addressed the Senate Republican Higher Education Task Force at Northern Illinois University. For the third year in a row NIU faces a tuition increase, hiring freeze, and classes that are no longer being offered.
Right now NIU is trying to figure out how they will operate without $30 million.
The Task Force still has to hold meetings at two other universities. The information will be compiled and presented to Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
