Republican John McCain is extending his stay in Wisconsin this week to campaign Friday in La Crosse.
McCain plans to hold a 9 a.m. rally at the La Crosse Center.
He plans two stops in the state Thursday. The first one is in the morning in Waukesha with his running mate Sarah Palin. After that stop, Palin leaves for Ohio and McCain will go to a rally in Mosinee.
Recent polls show McCain is trailing Democrat Barack Obama in Wisconsin. The latest poll released on Tuesday showed Obama ahead of McCain by 5 percentage points in the state.
The La Crosse visit is open to the public, but those who want to attend must get tickets at state Republican offices in La Crosse and Eau Claire starting Wednesday.
