Wildlife ecologists say there were no breeding and migratory pairs in 1986, but the trumpeter swan population has grown to 126 pairs across 20 counties this year.
The state Department of Natural Resources also is considering taking ospreys off the state threatened species list. The insecticide DDT devastated ospreys in the 1950s and '60s, but the population has rebounded and held steady at more than 400 nesting pairs since 2003.
A public hearing on the proposals is set for Oct. 20 in Madison.

this doesnt really relate to the swans or anything/// This relates to the guy that got killed by the ppl that are suppose to help us/// The police/// Somehow everytime the law enforcement "accidentally" kills some1 here or anywhere in the USA it always turns out that the victim of the "accident" had something wrong with them///They got that got killed bc he was shot with a stun gun 9/10/2008// He dies and all of a sudden he has heart problems// The guy in NY that got shot over 50 times for no reason/// Said that they were following procedure/// 50 times/// Procedure says that you can shoot a man 50?// The man that got killed out here while he was running from the police in a car/// Shoot and killed/// How do you manage to wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror knowing that your the cause of some1 being buried 6 ft and not being able to see their families again// In my opinion the police are ppl that has the right to kill some1 jus bc theyre having a bad day and know
