From the Chihuahua to Black Lab, dogs of all breeds showed off their skills at Sports Core One today. This is the "Strut your Mutt" competition. It was part of the Canine Classic Dog Fair. All money raised help benefit homeless pets housed in the Winnebago County Animal Shelter. While some say during a tough economy. Fido is the first to go, others believe those cuddly pooches are just as important as any other family member.

"Majority of my clients, they rank their pets right up there as their children, so they're gonna spend money as a priority," says Laurie Spain, Owner of Stateline Dogwatch.

Stateline Dogwatch installs dog containment systems. Spain says even clients who move due to financial issues still have their electronic fence systems re-installed at their new home.
