ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The banks of the Rock River were the place to be for boating enthusiasts from all over the region.
More than 500 boats and almost 60 rowing team took part in the 28th Head of the Rock Regatta on Sunday. It’s one of the nation's largest rowing competitions. Kids in high school all the way up to seventy-year-olds competed. The almost three mile long course started in Machesney Park and wrapped up at the Rockford YMCA.
