More signs of economic hardship as another Stateline business may soon be handing out pink slips.

Tote Cart in Rockford originally had 125 workers at their facility, but after recent layoffs, just 75 are left, and the rest may soon be losing their jobs.

The company makes shopping carts for grocery stores. Employees tell us they're worried that if they do lose their jobs, they won't be able to find another job in our tough economy.

Workers also say originally, they were told Friday would be their last day, but after further negotiations, they say they're now expected to work a couple more weeks.

Our calls to Tote Cart's president were not returned.

If not for the **** poor decision making by the president who won't return calls, my job would have remained in place. Sad day when a 65 year old company is run in to the ground.
