My family have been going to most of these parks for most of my life. Now with my own child we have been going to at least 5 of the parks listed. She enjoys the outdoors and fishing with her dad. Several of the local state parks are going to be closed, now we will have to drive over 3 hours to the nearest lake for any outdoor activities. We don't have the money that most of Chicago families do, or jets 4 of them, so I guess they have to take away fromt he little guys again. It's a shame that as adults we all try to get children outdoors and show them how beautiful our state is, and now they are limited to local parks. Most parks, like Wolf Creek has been our home away from home for over 23 years, why this one, it's the most beautiful of them all. It has wildlife and access to a beautiful lake. I really think that this will make a lot of people think about who we have representing us in the state of Illinois. I am disapointed, in this decision. Someone please help our family.

We as a family have been going to fort chartres for the past 25 years about 4 or 5 times a year and eat at a small cafe down the road each year. Let's pray that the people in charge will see that it took 25 years to build the fort up to what it looks like today. It's been a slow going at best just to get the walls and some of the buildings up. Lets not destroy the place so many have a good time at.

Please don't close our state parks. We cannot afford to take long trips anymore and our local parks are all we have left. Focus on cuts in Chicago instead of downstate. We don't have much as it is.

I bet if we didn't have to finance the Govenor's daily commute from Chicago to Springfield and back they might be able to find some extra money to keep the Parks open. I say let the Politicians take a pay cut and keep the Parks open!!!

It's ridiculous to close such fine facilities. We need recreation sites close to home especially with fuel prices so high. KEEP THEM OPEN!!!!
