School has started, it's getting dark earlier and Curran's Orchard is now open. So yes it's getting to be like fall. The Orchard opened up for the season today. There aren't quite apples to pick yet, but tons of raspberries. Anyone who shows up could check out the glass observation bee hive or taste some of their delicious apple donuts.

"We didn't allow people to pick this weekend, we're gonna allow them to come in next weekend, cause the apples they're running behind what they did last year with that cold long prolonged spring we had so it set everything back about a week," says Owner Pat Curran.

Edwards Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove is also open this weekend. They closed last January after a tornado destroyed about 200 of their trees.
