Rockford Woman Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run Near the Quad Cities

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A CrimeStoppers tip allows police to arrest a Rockford woman for allegedly killing a teenager in a hit-and-run-crash.

The CBS affiliate in the Quad Cities reports Maria Romero, 41, of Rockford faces charges for leaving the scene and not reporting a deadly crash.

Back in March Emilio Perez, 17, ran out of gas and was walking along Interstate 88 near Joslin, Illinois when he was hit and killed.

CrimeStoppers billboard were up around the Quad Cities asking for information and Romero is how being held on a $250,000 bond.
