MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The deadline for getting on Wisconsin's first No Call List that will include cell phone numbers is fast approaching.
The state started its No Call List to protect consumers from telemarketing calls in 2003. But it did not start accepting cell phone numbers until June 6th.
The state puts out its No Call List quarterly, and the first list with cell phone numbers will come out October first.
To get on that list, cell phone owners must sign up by August 31st.
Consumers can sign up for the list free of charge by calling 1-866-9NO-CALL or going to the Wisconsin No Call List Web site run by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
