The YWCA is starting a program aimed at ending racism in Rockford. The YWCA’s Great Lakes alliance is granting $4,500 to our local chapter to start a racial justice program.
The interim director of the "Y" says currently they're not doing enough to stop racism. Some of the money will be used to research programs to see what would be the best way to address the problem here.
One option is interracial study circles. They explore disagreements on racial issues and try to reach common ground.
