" I want him home.. I want it to be a mistake"..

Mother's instinct told Netha Morgan this would be the last photo taken of her son.

" Family thought I was crazy because i knew he wasn't coming home" says Morgan

Just four days after celebrating his 23rd birthday ,Rockford solider David Badie was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan. He was serving two years with NATO.

" I went to send his birthday gift to him and the zip code was wrong and so i tried calling him but there was no answer.. I knew something was wrong" .. says Netha

and it was that bad vibe Friday..that gave David and his sister a reason
to talk for the last time

" I got a call from him that morning that he left and we got to talking and he said that he didn't want to go back through to where he was and Itold him that i didn't want him to go either .. I didn't want him to go at all" says Kassandra Badie

..Badie was promoted to special forces while on duty.. it was a title his family says .. was released after his death...

" We knew that he was promoted to a new job position or whatever but he just couldn't tell us about it"..Morgan says

The only thing her Badie wanted for his birthday... was to come home.

"He may not be coming home walking and talking anymore.. at least not physically but spiritually .. hes saying alot."
