Woman Dies After Crashing Into The Rock River
Woman trapped inside her car is rescued from the Rock River but dies at local hospital.

A 72 year old woman has pronounced dead at a Rockford hospital after being rescued from the Rock River. Authorities say it happened around 9:12 this morning on Highway 2 South of Town Hall Road between Byron and Oregon .
Witnesses say the woman's car veered off of Route 2 and ended up in the river. The woman was trapped inside her car under water.
Several dive teams were called into assist. The woman was rescued a short time later and airlifted to a local hospital. Officials are still investigating why her car ended up in the river.
