A Rockford Manufacturing Plant is shutting its doors leaving dozens without a job. G-E Water and Process Technologies on Grant Avenue in Rockford will close in the second quarter of next year. 58 workers will lose their jobs as a result. The company is a joint venture recently formed between G-E and Pentair. A company spokesperson says the decision was a hard one but was a result of an analysis of the company's manufacturing footprint. The company makes valves and controls for the water treatment and irrigation markets.
