UPDATE: 18-Year-Old Dies After Shooting

UPDATE: Rockford police say an 18-year-old is dead after being shot multiple times early this afternoon.

Investigators say the 18-year-old man was at the intersection of Cameron and North Rockton avenue when it happened.

Officers are looking for a black man in his late teens or early 20's wearing an orange and yellow hooded sweatshirt. He was last seen running from the area, north on Darwood.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford police are looking for the suspect in a shooting that happened Monday afternoon near Cameron and North Rockton Avenues.

Police say just before 1 p.m. they were called to the intersection of Cameron and North Rockton Avenues and found an 18-year-old man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was later taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The possible suspect was initially described as being a black man with light complexion in his late teens to early 20's, about 5'11", 160 lbs, wearing an orange and yellow hooded sweat shirt. He was last seen running from the area northbound on Darwood, then in an eastern direction.
