The fate of a Rockford man on trial for first degree murder is now in the hands of a jury. Arguments have ended in the trial of Ahmed Mubarak. He's on trial for murder, though he didn't physically kill anyone. Police say Mubarak fired a gun during a party in November of 2003 on Preston Street. They say the gunshot created chaos as people rushed to get away from the gun fire. During the panic, party-goer John Tidwell was run over and killed by a fleeing vehicle. Mubarak is being tried under the Felony Murder rule. The rule states that any person who commits a felony that results in someone's death can be held responsible.
