More than 37 pounds of cocaine and 100 pounds of marijuana are seized today in one of the largest drug busts in stateline history.
The drugs were uncovered by the metro narcotics unit. Bags of money and 3 weapons were also confiscated. The cocaine was found hidden in a home on Rockford's southwest side. Raids at other homes turned up the additional items. The estimated street value for the drugs is around 2 million dollars.
Three people were arrested - including a 16-year-old -- who played a role in delivering the coke. 49-year-old Nicomedes Munguia is charged with possession of cocaine. He faces up to 60 years in prison. 29-year-old Saul Flores faces up to 30 years behind bars.
