ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The tornados that destroyed so much in central Illinois are really helping us to put things in perspective this Thanksgiving. Sunday hundreds of people from all religious backgrounds gathered for a special Thanksgiving service.
It was the 24th annual Mayor’s Interfaith Thanksgiving program. Mayor Larry Morrissey was joined by members of various faith groups to share Thanksgiving prayers focusing on this year's theme of "Peace Through Education". The main focus was on children who don't receive a good education in other countries.
This was organized by the Rockford Interfaith Council which meets regularly to discuss pressing community issues.
