A body recovered Tuesday night on the Rock River may be that of a weekend suicide jumper.
The body was first spotted floating in the Rock River near the former Ace of Spades ball diamonds on south Main Street. Members of the Blackhawk volunteer fire department managed to snag the body and bring it to shore not far from the Winnebago-Ogle county line.
Officials say the body is that of a white male that could be the man who jumped from the bypass 20 bridge over the river this weekend, but an accurate identification will have to come later.
Officials say an autopsy will probably be performed tomorrow to determine the cause of death.
