An accident involving an tanker truck carrying ethanol this morning has killed one man, and shut down a section of I-39 for about three hours in both directions. Boone County Sheriff's Deputies say the driver of the Road Ranger truck was pronounced dead on the scene. Nobody else was injured in the wreck. Deputies believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

It all happened at about 1:30 this morning just south of Winnebago County in northern Ogle County. The truck went off the road, and rolled over several times. Another tanker was called in to empty the very flammable ethanol before rescue crews were able to extract the accident victim. Again... all lanes have been reopened at this time. The victim's name is not being released pending notification of family members. We are expecting a statement from Road Ranger later in the day.
