Anti-war rallies are being held throughout the United States to mark the 3rd Anniversary of the Iraq war. President Bush is marking the 3rd anniversary of the U.S. led invasion of Iraq with a renewed call for patience. Some 2,300 U.S. military personnel and tens of thousands of Iraqi’s have died since bush gave the order to invade. Marches were held at the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, Concord, New Hampshire; Times Square in New York; Boston and Los Angeles. Protestors even gathered in Washington, D.C., in front of the Vice President's residence.

This was the first time since 2003 that an anti-war protest in Chicago included a March down Michigan Avenue; in the past two years, permits for that roadway were denied. About 2,000 orderly protesters marched while police officers in riot gear outnumbered them. The event concluded with a rally in Daley Plaza. At least one bystander showed up to express his support for President Bush's policies in Iraq.
