ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A new business, Lucette Salon and Day Spa, will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, at 508 E.State St. Hours will be Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lucette is a full service salon and day spa, providing hair, makeup, nail services, full body waxing, facials, massage, and body treatments, as well as meditation services emphasizing mindfulness and relaxation. Lucette will carry Aveda products and product line new to the
Rockford area, Arrojo.

“I wanted to bring in Arrojo because, like Aveda, they have an amazing fashion culture and are truly committed to quality and education," said Lucette owner Kate Wirth. "The products are extremely user friendly and allow for great creativity and control. These values are incredibly important to me and the rest of my team at Lucette.”

That team will consist of Wirth, an Aveda Institute trained cosmetologist and esthetician who has worked in downtown Rockford for the past 10 years, stylists Amy Tremble, Kelly Wing, and Amy Chatfield, who share nearly 40 years of combined experience; esthetician Stephanie Zibell, facialist Natalie Gronvold and front desk managers Amber Stevens and Katie Harvey.

Lucette hopes to live up to its name, which means "light" in the traditional sense but has become a modern day moniker for someone with great style who is beautiful inside and out.

Lucette will focus on providing outstanding customer service, product knowledge and being on the forefront of style and trend in the area. Lucette also will take an active role in the community by participating in existing downtown activities and collaborating with other local businesses on new ones.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to be a big part of change in our city and demonstrate just how great our downtown really is,” Wirth said.

Guests can look forward to upcoming beauty and wellness seminars that will provide them with the most up to date techniques, trends and information in a fun, casual environment.

Technology will be integrated into every salon experience at Lucette.

The most common problem a client faces is learning a new technique in the salon and not being able to replicate that at home. Lucette staff will provide clients with video instructions sent directly to their computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. Consultations will become even more relevant with the opportunity to search celebrity photos on a whim and easily take before and after pictures. Guests will also have the opportunity to browse online and enjoy streaming video service, or even reserve movie tickets while waiting for their favorite service.

RSVP to join Lucette for their Guest Appreciation Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21. Win prizes, receive great deals on retail and experience one-on-one training from Lucette staff.
