The first was at a business in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue in Rockford. The business, "Product Display," was reported by a police department squad car about 10:19 Wednesday night. When firefighters arrived on scene, flames were already shooting out of the roof. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a storage area and no injuries were reported. The cause is still under investigation. The other fire was in 300 block of Dawn Avenue. Flames were already coming from the roof when firefighters arrived at the apartment building. Crews quickly searched the building and made sure everyone was out of the building and uninjuried. While the fire started from only food on the stove, damages are estimated at $100,000.
