ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A Rockford doctor has had his license temporarily suspended by the state because of what the Chief of Medical prosecutions says has been “sexually inappropriate conduct with multiple women patients.”
Dr. Charles Dehaan is alleged to have had this questionable contact with several patients of his home care practice from 2009 to 2013. The complaint also alleges Dehaan had sex two to three times a month for six months while treating a woman who had a history of a mental disorder. The doctor is also charged with violations of controlled substance prescription rules for Vicodin, Ritalin, and Norco.
Dehaan faces a hearing next Friday to respond to these charges. In addition, Dehaan was arrested Tuesday for an outstanding warrant for contempt of court for failing to pay fines for a driving offense. Dehaan’s office was closed when we called for comment. Attorney John Lanpher told us just before the 6 p.m. newscast that his client "heavily disputes any allegations."
