ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- An infant found dead inside a local recycling plant over the summer is remembered Sunday by hundreds of people who are sharing a similar loss.
Sunday was the 23rd annual "Walk to Remember”. It's a memorial in honor of infants lost at an early age. Dozens of people came out to the Sinnissippi Bike Path where they walked to a dedication site where kids are honored with special bricks. Baby Noah also received a dedication..
“You never know when you are going to need the help… it’s always good to speak up,” says Thomas Sands. After he and his wife lost two daughters, he started a foundation in their name, The Tomisina and Ashley Fund.
The group also released balloons to remember their lost children. Local pastors and community leaders offered prayers and songs.
