Rockford Police Release Thanksgiving Holiday Click It or Ticket Results

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- From November 18 to December 1, 2013, police conducted an enforcement to remind motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, both day and night, during the merged Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilizations.

On November 23, 2013, the Rockford Police Department joined forces with the Winnebago County Sherrif’s Department and conducted a joint Roadside Safety Check in the 1200 Block of Kishwaukee St. The Rockford Police Department also conducted both day and night time seatbelt enforcement details during the campaign period.

From these targeted details, the Rockford Police Department had the following results.

51 - seat belt citations
3 - child car seat citations
12 - DUI arrests
3 - fugitives apprehended
13 - suspended/revoked licenses
26 - uninsured motorists
11 - speeding citations
2 – texting while driving
39 – other traffic violations
1 - drug arrest
