Going to the emergency room or making a doctor's appointment for a minor illness doesn't usually fit into our schedules. 23 News Reporter Natalie Kaplan has the details on a new health clinic that can diagnose and treat us right away.
A cough, runny nose, soar throat, these are exactly the kinds of symptoms take care health clinic in Rockford is designed to treat. If we've got a minor illness they've got someone to help. There are no appointments, so you would come in, sign into the kiosk, and the nurse practitioner would most likely take you right away."
With at least two nurses on hand throughout the week and during the weekend, it's a great option to have if you want to see someone quickly about a cold, urinary tract infection, or other minor problem.
When you're not feeling well convenience is key, the clinic is located less then five steps away from Walgreen's Pharmacy and if you're not registered here, they can send in a prescription anywhere.
Nurses also say it can be cheaper, "Typically our visits run $59 to $74 and that's another reason why people would come and see us, we are very affordable."
Plus, it appears most patients are happy with the new facility, "We've got about a 95-96% satisfaction rate."
The clinic can also do camp and school physicals for kids, as well as provide booster vaccinations. Right now, there's a Take Care Clinic in one Walgreens in Rockford and another in Belvidere. Sometime soon, they plan on opening a second in Rockford, and one in Roscoe.
