STERLING, Ill. (AP) -- Police are searching for a suspect in the death of a 93-year-old man whose body was found in the trunk of his car.
Whiteside County sheriff's police are awaiting the results of an autopsy on Russell Reed, whose vehicle was found in a driveway by police in Sterling on Thursday.
Police say the 28-year-old suspect eluded police after ditching a stolen car in a cornfield near Harmon.
Police say the suspect is believed to be armed and may be driving a 1999 red Jeep reported stolen near Rock Falls. He's wanted by police for a Sterling home invasion earlier in the week.
