Beloit Memorial is still working with the village of Roscoe to make the wellness campus a reality, but all signs point to construction beginning this spring.
Once complete the facility will employ over a hundred people making an average of $50,000 per year. Job opportunities in the Stateline certainly aren't the only reason why the county board voted 27 to 1 in favor of the tax break. The wellness center will also serve the fastest growing part of the county by contributing significant tax revenue for local schools.
If everything goes according to plan 24 assisted living apartments will open some time at the end of this year. The rest of the wellness campus should be up and running by the fall of 2007.
The wellness campus will be the most significant project the hospital has undertaken since the construction of Beloit Memorial in 1971.
