From the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office:
On Saturday, July 13, 2013, at approximately 9:12 p.m., the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a head on collision on Baileyville Road about .4 mile north of Lamm Road.
When deputies arrived, it was learned that a Buick Park Avenue had been going southbound on Baileyville Road when a northbound Nissan Sentra crossed over the middle of the roadway into the Buick's southbound lane of travel. The Buick attempted to swerve to the left to avoid a collision, but the vehicles impacted in the southbound lane with the right front corner of both vehicles making first contact.
The driver of the Buick was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital for treatment, while the driver and the passengers of the Nissan were taken to the Freeport Health Network Hospital.
The driver and the three passengers of the Nissan were later flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital. The three passengers of the Nisan were an 11 year old and two 8 year olds and were the children of the driver.
One of the 8 year olds was eventually flown to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
The driver, Kevin Hille, 30, was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage.
More charges may be filed at a later date. Investigation of the accident continues.
STEPHENSON COUNTY (WIFR) – In Stephenson County, a man and his three young passengers suffered serious injuries after a head-on crash on Baileyville Road, south of Freeport.
30-year-old Kevin Hille crossed the centerline and hit another car. Hille, an 11-year old girl, an 8-year-old girl, and an 8-year-old boy were all injured.
Hille is tentatively being charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage.
