UPDATE: Associated Bank Robbery Suspect Sentenced

UPDATE: A Rockford man was been sentenced for robbing a bank back in July 2013.

56-year-old Tony Walker was sentenced to 80 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for the robbery of Associated Bank on North Main Street in Rockford.

Walker pleaded guilty to the crime on December 2, 2013.


ROCKFORD (WIFR) – It took police just three days to catch the man who allegedly robbed the Associated Bank on North Main Street.

Surveillance cameras caught his face clear as day. He’s identified as 55-year-old Tony Walker. Police say he used a note to get cash.

He’s now in custody.


ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Police are still on the scene of a bank robbery on Rockford’s West Side.

It happened around four this afternoon at the First Associated Bank on North Main Street, near the Discovery Center Museum. Police say a black man in his 60’s stormed inside, gave a teller a note demanding money. He got away with an unknown amount of cash. No one was hurt.

This is the second bank robbery this week in Rockford.
