Two Men Dead In Two Separate Shootings

A taxi driver found 58-year-old Gary Young dead in the parking lot on Cedar and Court street early Sunday morning. Rockford Police say young suffered a gunshot wound. An autopsy is set for Monday.

Young has little family and is a homeless person known to frequent the downtown area. Rockford Police say often the homeless become victims of crime.

The second one happened late Saturday night when a house party that turned deadly. Police were called to the 200 block of Waldo Street for what was thought to be a rowdy birthday party.

Rockford Police say a fight broke out and several shots were fired in what they are calling a gang related shooting. Seventeen-year-old Derrick Butler died from a gunshot wound. Seventeen-year-old Dion Jordan was also shot in the leg. He's been treated and released. Also injured was 17-year-old Anthony Black suffered a head injury.

On Sunday afternoon police had three warrants out for suspects, they have made two arrests. They were searching for 17-year-old Janell Gordon, 18-year-old Mario Lambert and 18-year-old Devonte Gordon who are all from Rockford.

As of Sunday night, Gordan and Lambert were in custody. Gordan is still on the loose.
