It started snowing in Rockford around three on Friday. The increased traffic from the holiday and the fact that people haven't driven on snowy roads in quite some time did lead to multiple accidents across the Stateline.
Late this afternoon a GMC Jimmy rolled over on Owen Center Road just south of Latham in Winnebago County. Later just before six a Ford truck also rolled over on Bypass 20 near the Route 2 interchange.
Both vehicles are thought to have been going too fast for conditions but luckily did not collide with any other motorists. Miraculously no one was seriously injured in either of these accidents.
Slick conditions also caused over a dozen accidents in Janesville. Southern counties of Wisconsin received the heaviest snow in the stateline.
