2 Armed Robberies in Rockford Possibly Connected

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford police say two armed robberies Monday night are most likely connected.

The first on happened just before 7:00 p.m. near the intersection of Latham Street and Midway Drive. Police say a 35-year-old woman was walking down the street when a black man in his 20's, 5'6'' and 150 lbs. came up to her with a handgun and demanded money.

He was last seen getting into a sliver Chevy with three black men inside. They drove away heading west on Midway.

About 20 minutes later and a block away a 44-year-old man was robbed at gun point by three black men. It happened around 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Pierce Ave. and Ruth Street.

Police say the suspects demanded money. Two of them were armed with guns.

In both incidents no one was hurt. Police have no suspects in custody and are currently investigating.
