Over the past few weeks the talk over whether to bring concealed carry to Winnebago County has *triggered debate between public officials and some community members.Right now it's that decision that may put some county board members in the line of fire.

" People say you're a Democrat, you can't believe in that and I say Ihave always supported concealed carry"

Winnebago Bounty Board Member Doug Arrand is a strong supporter of conceal carry in Winnebago County. He says the fact that both Wisconsin and Illinois are the only two states with-out a carry law poses a serious risk to state line crime statistics.

" Every state that has had concealed carry law, crime has gone down now somebody said to me today did you know that Wisconsin has some of the lowest crime rates in the nation.. I said yes i do and if they get concealed carry it will even be lower" say Aurand

It's "freedom of speech" that has county members deciding just how far to push the 2nd amendment. This week the board will hold a meeting at Memorial Hall ..*aiming for public input before making a final decision ..."

That meeting will be held from 5:30- 7:30 at Memorial Hall. Each participant is allowed 2 minutes for public comment.
