The fate more than 17-hundred kids of the Winnebago school district rests in the hands of the teachers negotiation team.
Members of the Winnebago teachers federation voted overwhelmingly to give the teachers negotiating team the right to call a strike Friday.
This decision is based on next Thursday’s mediation session. Teachers in the Winnebago school district have been working without a contract since August.
On Thursday they hope to reach an agreement with the district. If they can’t reach a deal the union may decide to go on strike.
Residents in Winnebago hope both sides will compromise and work things out so students don't have to suffer. Click on the Winnebago video link to hear residents' reactions.
