A community wide garage fair kicks off in Davis Junction tomorrow and one little girl who is using the event to raise money for a good cause.
Lily Drake may only be five years old but she's got some pretty big plans for this years garage fair. All the money collected at her food stand is going to an organization HopeForMike. mike, a family friend of the Drakes has ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. That's a neurological disease when nerve cells are attacked, some loose complete muscle control and the disease can eventually lead to death. The Drakes say it's not that common but it's a cause dear to their heart.
With the help of her family, Lily built a stand, collected food from the community, and will be out selling for the two days. Last year Lily's lunch stand raised $500 for Mike and she hopes this year to collect even more.
Davis Junction garage sale days run Friday and Saturday. It's an annual village event where dozens open up their homes so friends and family can stop by.
